Active Isolated Stretching

The Active Isolated Stretching (AIS) method of muscle lengthening and fascial release provides effective, dynamic, facilitated stretching of major muscle groups. More importantly, AIS provides functional and physiological restoration of superficial and deep fascial planes.  This is particularly helpful for CrossFitters and other athletes that continuously engage in activities that shorten and tighten muscles and fascia.

Trigger Point Therapy

Trigger points are defined as localized areas in which the muscle and connective tissue are highly sensitive to pain when compressed. Pressure on these points can send referred pain to other specific parts of the body. The presence of trigger points indicates dysfunction in the muscle groups around the trigger point and treatment is important to restore the muscle groups to normal movement patterns.

Therapeutic Massage

This is in line with what most people consider traditional massage therapy.  In therapeutic massage, the therapist manipulates the superficial layers of muscle and connective tissue to enhance their function and promote relaxation and well-being.  Deep tissue therapeutic massage is often recommended for individuals who are in consistent pain, are involved in heavy physical activity, and those who have sustained a physical injury.  Sounds great for your CrossFit lifestyle doesn’t it?

Functional Movement Screening

The FMS is a process for documenting movement patterns that are key to normal function. By screening these patterns, the therapist identifies functional limitations and asymmetries that can reduce the effects of functional training and physical conditioning and distort body awareness.

Our exercise professionals use the FMS score to identify exercises that will be most effective to restore proper movement and build strength in each individual.

Thai Stick Reflexology

Thai Stick Reflexology is a massage of the feet and also lower legs. Thai foot massage is both invigorating and deeply relaxing and involves hands on massage, stretching and acupressure to stimulate reflex points of the foot. It includes the use of a traditional Thai foot massage stick as well as using the palms, fingers, thumbs and knuckles to work the feet. Not only is Thai Stick Reflexology a great treat for yourself, it makes an excellent gift for loved ones.

Neuromuscular Release Therapy (NRT)

NRT uses a full body palpation exam to quickly and easily identify every area in the body where protective spasms are located. Once this simple 10 – 15 minute exam is completed the release process begins. NRT uses specific soft tissue manipulation (hands-on) techniques to facilitate its release and thus “free” the area from the brain’s need to constantly protect it. Once all identified imbalances have been released the body can become the self sufficient healing machine it is naturally designed to be.
