Do I have to already be in shape to do CrossFit?

This is one of the biggest misconceptions of CrossFit!  No, in fact, it’s pretty difficult to get in shape for CrossFit.  The best way to get in CrossFit shape is to come to CrossFit.  If you are a beginner, you’ll take our CrossFit Fastrack class which will build your strength, coordination, and conditioning. Then as you move to CrossFit everyday your fitness, knowledge, and confidence will grow under the watchful eye of our coaching team.

 What do I need to bring to class?

The most important thing to bring is a positive attitude and some grit!  Next you need shoes that you can comfortably run and jump in, a jump rope (if you have one, if not you can borrow one or buy one from us), a bottle of water, and that’s about it!  As you get more experienced with CrossFitting, you’ll pick up more equipment as you need it.

What kind of machines/equipment do you use in CrossFit?

We don’t use machines like treadmills or thighmasters!  We use barbells, plyoboxes, dumbbells, glute-ham developers, pull up rigs and more.

How are the CrossFit classes structured?

Each class begins with a warm up, stretches and mobility, and then moves to a review of the workout of the day (WOD), and then the actual workout.  Once the workout is done, we record our workout results on the whiteboard and you are free to stretch, relax, and bask in your glory.

What if I am not able to do all of the movements?

All movements in CrossFit are scale-able.  Whether you have an old injury that hinders your movement, are long in the tooth, have a few pounds to lose, or just plain having a bad day, our coaches are trained to scale or replace movements to keep you safe and happy.

What does the Olympic Lifting class involve?

In our Oly class, you’ll work with one of the most seasoned, talented, Olympic lifting coaches in the country, Matt Foreman, on snatch, clean and jerk, pulls, and squats.  In short, the Oly class involves you being maximally awesome.
